About Guns
© By Grady L. Duncan

As you all know,
Some people would dare,
To disarm all of us,
So we must beware.

Though they are sincere,
They don't understand,
That to attempt it,
Is a futile plan.
Something that deters crime,
And really makes sense,
Is an armed citizen,
Who  knows self-defense.

It's foolish to think,
That if taken away,
The criminal element,
Wouldn't target us as prey.

A law abiding person,
Though armed to the hilt,
Will not use a gun,
To establish his gilt.

Criminals don't worry,
About anti-gun laws.
They'll manage to break them,
To support their cause.
They would be pleased,
If those laws were past.
Then they would have,
A free rein at last.

It don't take a genius,
To see the outcome.
To suggest such a thing,
Is dumber than dumb.
