Its A Man Thing

I pose, to you, a question,
for I have yet to understand,
the logic if some people,
throughout this prosperous land.
All across this nation,
in big cities and small towns,
a phenomenon has developed,
and now everywhere abounds.
Though we have modern highways,
and paved streets everywhere,
wherever you wish to go,
a road will take you there.
Every government entity,
has taxed us to the hilt,
to see that all of our roads,
are the best that can be built.
I must sound old-fashioned,
but I've lived through hard times,
unable to buy a loaf bread,
when it only cost a dime.
To me, it's no different,
no matter what the tense,
what some men do today
don't make real good sense.
Though they live in the city,
and work in skyscrapers,
and the heaviest load they carry,
is a briefcase full of papers.
Even though they are married,
and have a family of five,
the only vehicles he buys,
is a pickup with four-wheel drive.
