Moored Ships

Like a Master Ship-builder,
God made you and me,
Rigged us and launched us,
Into the turbulent sea.
He ladened us with a cargo.
In our holds is his Word,
To be delivered promptly,
Where it's never been heard.
We remain in the harbor,
Secured in our moors,
Unwilling to set sail,
For far distant shores.
The problems of idleness,
Like vermin, do find,
Their entrance on board,
Up the mooring lines.

No profit to the Master,
Nor attaining his goal.
No return cargoes we bring.
No, not one single soul.
Cast off all lines,
And set out to sea.
There are souls in bondage,
Needing to be free.
Deliver your cargo,
Of God's Holy Word.
Return home to Jesus,
With new cargo aboard.

Bring back believers,
That the Master may gain,
More souls for his Kingdom,
And His goal attain.
