Lord, restore the joy of our salvation,
The happiness that we once knew;
Erase the bitterness and strife
Replace with faith anew!
Bring back full confidence..
Set our hearts aglow.
Take from our lives the doubtful hearts
And our present woe.
Bring back the joy and peace,
Amidst life’s busy days.
Keep from our thoughts the sinful lusts;
And purify our ways.
Hope, peace, and happiness…
How quick they’re snatched away.
When we often fail to heed…
Him who leads the way!
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
