The Dusty Bible

The Bible lies closed and covered with dust.

Its owner not reading, in man does he trust

To teach him the lessons from God's true Son,

Of how he has paid for the deeds we have done.
Not knowing, he carries the burden of sin

Through life, he walks blindly, guided by men.

The footprints of Jesus show clear in the sand,

But still he follows the teachings of man.
If only he would open and learn for himself,

But still, it lies unopened, up on the shelf.

Who is to tell him? How will he know,

That Jesus can show him, which way to go?
His soul is in danger!  Who is to blame?

Does he not know, why Jesus came?

God's judgments are based on that Holy Book,

Yet, he never once thinks to give it a look.
It's sad, but true, that such is the case,

That Jesus' blood, for him, was a waste.

The book that will judge him, he didn't read.

Then will he know  it, unable to heed.
So, study your Bible, so that you will know,

The blessings of God, who loves you so.

His Son, Jesus, did he, lovingly give,

That through his blood, we eternally live.
