The Waiting Game

You know me as a patient man.

That's the way I want it to be.

At times I'm put on trial,

When others take advantage of me.

I always make a great effort,

To never, ever be late,

Then the opposite party,

Chooses to make me wait.
I go to the doctor's office,

to determine what made me sick,

Hoping to relieve the problem,

and return home real quick.

An hour and a half, I wait,

Sitting in deepest gloom.

Then they call me inside,

To wait in the Examining Room.
After another half hour of waiting,

The doctor finally comes in,

Greeting me with "How are you?"

The examination finally begins.

Still disturbed by the waiting,

And anger showing in my eyes,

He pumps up the arm band, asking,

"Why is your blood pressure so high?"
It don't take a doctor to tell,

What the cause might be.

There's plenty of other patients,

Who know what troubles me.
They too, have the problem,

For they are waiting still.

Since the doctor is the problem,

Maybe, he should get the bill.
