Thunderation

I thought I heard it thunder.
It sounded about a mile away.
I was sure I was mistaken.
It was such a pretty day.
As the sound gradually grew louder,
I unplugged things I wanted to save;
the televisions and computer,
and finally the microwave.
I rushed out on the front porch,
to get a good look at the sky.
There wasn't a cloud in sight.
and I couldn't understand, why?
I could hear a swishing sound,
accompanied by, "Boom, Boom, Boom".
With the horror  of the commotion,
I was sure I would meet my doom.
The answer was soon in coming,
as a teenager slowly drove by,
in his new ruby red Trans Am,
his radio was turned up real high.
The stereo and car he was driving,
cost about twenty grand, I would bet.
Why, when I was a boy his age,
it was bicycles and crystal sets.
